Education is primary to the mission at Brazee Street School of Glass (SOG). Because different people learn in different ways, Brazee Street School of Glass offers all types of classes for every type of student. Whether you're looking for a short, two-hour introduction to glass (Make+Bakes) or a more in-depth look at warm glass processes including fusing, slumping and casting (Comprehensives), Brazee Street School of Glass offers ample opportunities.

Bullseye Kiln-glass Education Online

Fusing: Independent Open Studio is a unique opportunity to use our facilities to work on your own kilnformed glass projects. Students who have participated in a kilnforming class at Brazee Street School of Glass are eligible to use our classroom, tools, and kiln space while working along side other glass artists during these free-form sessions.

Already taken a Make & Bake class and want to create more? Join us for Make & Bake: Open Studio on the first Thursday of the month. We pull out our Make & Bake glass supplies, and you create your own fused glass bowls, coasters, plates, and/or cabs independently.

Come make BEADS with us! Students will learn the basics of bead making, participating in an art form with nearly 30,000 years of history. Learn the basics of this versatile technique in our introductory class, Kilncarving 101. Sculpt your fused glass using fiber paper components to create relief and texture in your final product. Students will design and create their own kilncarved fused glass tile using Bullseye glass. Open to students of all skill levels.

Brazee Street School of Glass welcomes Kelli Gleiner, guest story time expert from Blue Manatee Children's Bookstore, to read "A Penguin Story" by Antoinette Portis. Story followed by a fused glass art activity for your budding artist. Students will use our safe glass components to create a fused glass penguin inspired by the story.

Do you think in 2-D? Learn to translate your drawings into glass in this introductory class. Students will approach drawing in glass two ways, through addition and reduction. Using glass stringer, pulled vitrograph glass, and glass powders, students will create a range of samples exploring the possibilities of drawing with glass.

In this exciting two-hour class students will be guided through the basics of glass cutting, then will design and create their own original 11'' STACKS bowl. This is a perfect class to get a feel for the basics of glass fusing, and will orient you to our studio and glass cutting tools so that you can work independently during Open Studio time to create your own future fused glass projects.
