Education is primary to the mission at Brazee Street School of Glass (SOG). Different people learn in different ways. Whether you're looking for a short, two-hour introduction to warm glass (Make + Bakes) or a more in-depth look at warm glass processes, Brazee Street School of Glass offers ample opportunities. We work within the wide scope of warm glass fusing and lampworking, offering a range of class skill levels, techniques, and even private parties.

Improve your Dot, Dot, Dots! Straighten up your Stringers!
Gain better control! Use more precision! Kristina Logan, known as the “Dot Queen”, will carefully describe how she puts dots on beads. She will help you improve your own dot making skills by helping you develop hand-eye control, dot spacing, dot size, and overall flame control when applying dots.

Make and Bake classes are short introductions to the possibilities fused glass has to offer. Join us to create your own glass cabochon pendants, rings, earrings, and bracelets using our cut glass pieces and metal findings. You design them, we fire them in this two part intro class.

This class will introduce the basics of fusing and slumping while exploring the various forms of glass. Students will learn to design with glass using stringer, frit, confetti, and rod which will culminate in the creation of their own set of fused tiles, stacks project, slumped bowls and plate.

Explore image and text in fused glass in this three-day intensive workshop with glass artist Susan Taylor Glasgow. In this workshop students will manipulate their own imagery and text using photo-sensitive sandblasting resists, silk-screening techniques, hand drawing, Photoshop, and transparencies to create their own fused glass artwork.

Create depth in glass. This workshop will focus on creating multi-dimensional fused glass art blocks. Students will build layers of images on glass by utilizing different forms of frit, stringer and thin sheets. The finished block will take on a three dimensional quality.

Come make BEADS with us! Students will learn the basics of bead making, participating in an art form with nearly 30,000 years of history. Using Carlisle torches and Bullseye compatible glass, students will learn how to create round beads, square beads, and dot beads as they build comfort and control on the torch.

SOG presents "Reaction" bowls! Join us for this fused glass workshop using Bullseye's new reactive glass to design and create your own 5.5'' glass bowl. Students will experiment with reactive sheet glass and frit to draw out natural chemical reactions during the kiln firing process.

Kilnforming: Open Studio is a unique opportunity to use our facilities to work on your own kilnformed glass projects. Students who have participated in a kilnforming class at Brazee Street School of Glass are eligible to use our classroom, tools, and kiln space while working along side other glass artists during these free-form sessions.
