Education is primary to the mission at Brazee Street School of Glass (SOG). We offer classes from beginning to advanced WARM glass techniques with a focus on kiln glass and torchwork.

Learn to cut glass in this exciting fused-glass class and create your own STACKS bowl. All RE: Classes will focus on recycling, reusing, and re-purposing to make new, original fused glass art.

Are you a jewelry artist? Did you already take Make & Bake Cabs class? Just want to learn something new? Join us for this new take on one of our most popular classes. This time around students will create fused glass jewelry using our full pallet of frit colors and sizes. Students will also create copper inclusions for their fused glass rings, bracelets, earrings, and cabochons.

Improve your Dot, Dot, Dots! Straighten up your Stringers!
Gain better control! Use more precision! Kristina Logan, known as the “Dot Queen”, will carefully describe how she puts dots on beads. She will help you improve your own dot making skills by helping you develop hand-eye control, dot spacing, dot size, and overall flame control when applying dots.

The Big Fuse: Introduction to Kilnformed Glass The Big Fuse: Introduction to Kilnformed Glass

Wednesday & Thursday, September 22 & 23, 2010

This class will introduce the basics of fusing and slumping while exploring the various forms of glass. Students will learn to design with glass using stringer, frit, confetti, and rod which will culminate in the creation of their own set of fused tiles, stacks project, slumped bowls and plate.

Explore image and text in fused glass in this three-day intensive workshop with glass artist Susan Taylor Glasgow. In this workshop students will manipulate their own imagery and text using photo-sensitive sandblasting resists, silk-screening techniques, hand drawing, Photoshop, and transparencies to create their own fused glass artwork.

Kilnforming: Open Studio is a unique opportunity to use our facilities to work on your own kilnformed glass projects. Students who have participated in a kilnforming class at Brazee Street School of Glass are eligible to use our classroom, tools, and kiln space while working along side other glass artists during these free-form sessions.
