Kilnforming: Open Studio

Kilnforming: Open Studio is a unique opportunity to use our facilities to work on your own kilnformed glass projects. ONLY students who have participated in a kilnforming class (not just a Make & Bake) at Brazee Street School of Glass are eligible to use our classroom, tools, and kiln space while working along side other glass artists during these free-form sessions. A Brazee Street School of Glass staff member will be on site, but there will be no formal instruction.

Basic Cost: $5/hour, Two hour minimum. Additional charges for firings and mold rental apply. Bullseye glass is available for purchase in our retail shop.
-$10 deposit required. Reservation must be cancelled within 48 hours of Open Studio time.

Guidelines:

-Customers must always reserve a spot in Open Studio in advance. Reserve online, call to place deposit.
-Basic tools will be provided: hand cutter, breaker, ruler, glue and glass cleaner.
-Kilns must be programmed by a Brazee Street School of Glass staff member (or under a staff  
member’s supervision)
-Projects must be composed entirely of Bullseye glass—including accessory  
glass like dichroics, frit, stringer, etc. Items like metal foils, nichrome wire or other
materials deemed appropriate by the staff member in charge may be used.
-Up to two kiln shelves per day may be used if the studio has available space.
-When designing your pieces, factor in our shelf dimensions (below) plus a 1/2”
distance between your piece and the shelf edge, in all directions.

-GL-24 (22'' square shelf)                           $25 (4 available)
-Pearl 56 (26.5'' x 52'' shelf)                     Available April ($90)
-Mold Rental                                            $5/mold
