Marcia has spent 35 years as a medical illustrator, a perfect career for an artist who is just as fascinated with science and medicine as she is with drawing. She earned her BFA in Painting and Printmaking from the University of Cincinnati, and a Master’s Degree in Illustration from Syracuse University. In addition to winning national and international awards for her medical and scientific illustrations, she was selected one of the Top 100 Secret Artists by Cincinnati ArtWorks in 2008. Her work was included in the exhibitions “For a Better World 2011: Poems and Drawings on Peace and Justice”, and in "Medicine Illuminated" at the Lloyd LIbrary and Museum.
Marcia loves introducing ‘non-artists’ to the world of painting and drawing with traditional media. She has taught art techniques to teens and adults in Cincinnati, and at Sitka Fine Arts Camp in Sitka, Alaska. At Brazee, Marcia continues to teach small painting and drawing classes, and is exploring the world of personal art through her background as a scientific illustrator.
