Since January of 2014, Terri has devoted her time to the study of classical drawing and painting in addition to her involvement with both the Cincinnati Art Club and the Woman's Art Club of Cincinnati. Many of her oil paintings are inspired by the process of cooking; washing and chopping fruits and vegetables while sunlight streams through the kitchen window. In these still life paintings, fresh produce is arranged in a formal setting with draped backgrounds and direct lighting. But reflective of the painter's style and sense of humor, the colors vibrate with energy and the food takes center stage. Some of these paintings are done with a palette knife and oil paint on canvas, others with pastel.

She has also begun to develop an abstract style in large format mixed media. These paintings are celebrations of color, texture and gesture. Her current work is about the power of interaction, inter-connectivity and dialog between people. We all make choices everyday that impact the world around us, sometimes with ripple effects. The paintings with two canvases bound together represent the healing of communities and relationships; two becoming one, disparate views meeting in the middle, ideas that start with one person and become a common cause, small ideas making a big difference in the world, and the power of working together. The movement of color, light and pattern between the canvases are like words of grace, kindness and mercy. These paintings are about love amplified and unfurled.
