Brazee is THRILLED to welcome Dorie Guthrie back to the studio! Do not miss your chance to learn from Guthrie, an instructor as wonderful and enthusiastic as she is talented!
Students in this comprehensive workshop will learn a combination of kilnforming tequniques using glass enamels. Learn to design and create all types of imagery and graphics onto flat glass and three-dimensional forms. Students will gain hands-on experience painting with enamels on glass, using techniques including screen-printing, reverse painting, under painting, and layering imagery. This workshop will also cover coldworking techniques, cutting/grinding, in-depth discussions in glass fusing and kiln schedules.

Since 2001 when she first held a glass rod to a bench torch, artist Dorie Guthrie has focused her energies on shaping glass. To advance her experience working with glass, Dorie earned scholarships to Corning Museum of Glass, Penland School of Craft, and Pittsburgh Glass Center where she expanded her skills in kilncasting, flameworking, fusing, and imagery techniques. For five years, Dorie worked at Pilchuck Glass School in Stanwood, WA, and was selected to demonstrate flameworking techniques at the Toledo, OH Glass Art Society Conference 2012. Dorie is currently employed at Michiko Sakano Glass in Brooklyn, New York and will be teaching several workshops in the spring and fall including Urban Glass, Appalachian Center for Craft and GoggleWorks. Dorie Guthrie graduated from Illinois State University in 2008. Dorie was also an instructor at Brazee Street Studios from 2012-2014. To see more of Dorie's work, visit dorieguthrie.com
