Learn the beautiful kiln casting technique of pâte de verre! Translated literally to "paste of glass", pâte de verre produces exquisitely delicate pieces using fine frit. On day 1 students in this class will be walked through the steps of mold making, creating their own one of a kind plaster mold from a real leaf. Students will pack their mold with an array of colored glass to be cast in our kilns. Day 2 students will divest their mold and reveal a strikingly realistic pâte de verre leaf.
Students are encouraged to bring their favorite clay tools and old spoons (to be used in class). Tools will be provided, however additional tools are appreciated.
